Frequently Asked Questions
Q: What does personal coaching cost?
A: My pricing is similar to other health/wellness and personal development investments such as personal training, therapy or self-help workshops. The value from coaching can be similarly life-changing yet offers something distinctive—the ability to unlock and harness the life you want. I invite you to get in touch for a free informational call to learn more about my packages and sliding fee scale.
Q: Are you professionally trained as a coach?
A: Yes! I received my Certified Professional Coach (CPC) credentials from an ICF-accredited program through IPEC (Institute for Professional Excellence in Coaching)—a world-known and respected coaching organization. I am also certified as an Energy Leadership Index Master Practitioner (ELI-MP) and a COR.E Life/Transitions Dynamics Specialist (CTDS) and a COR.E Leadership Dynamics Specialist (CLDS).
Q: Is coaching like therapy?
A: Coaching and therapy may feel similar in the sense that they both can be cathartic, yet there are important differences. Coaching begins from a place of relative function, identifies inner blocks and helps the client move forward toward extraordinary. Therapy starts from a place of relative dysfunction, may involve diagnoses and treatment plans, and focuses on healing. The process of coaching focuses somewhat less on the details of a client’s past and much more on discovering the client’s “who,” what makes them tick and how they can develop a life of fulfillment and satisfaction.
Q: How are you qualified to give advice in any area of life?
A: Coaching is not advice- or opinion-giving. That would be consulting and mentoring. Coaching is guiding you to think deeply and comprehensively about who you are, what you really want and how you will achieve it. I support you by helping you unpack the energy beneath your dream, goal or intention before helping you find a path forward.
Q: Will I have to talk about my feelings?
A: When we understand our emotions, we understand our actions, and coaching is all about action. The more honest you can be about how you feel, the greater the insights you will gain from coaching and the more quickly you may reach sustainable success of your goal(s). That said, talking about feelings can be uncomfortable, complicated, mystifying and exhausting, so it’s no wonder many of us avoid it. I follow where you lead and hold your vulnerability reverently and safely. There is no judgment. Sometimes clients become tearful during a coaching session, others times they are quiet and reflective, and often they may feel happy and renewed. It runs the gamut, and I’m here for it all.
Q: Are coaching sessions virtual or in-person?
A: I host coaching sessions via Zoom. At times, we may meet by phone/audio if technology or unusual circumstances make video difficult.
Q: What are your hours?
A: I am in the Central Time zone and have availability Monday - Friday during typical business hours.
Q: How did you get into personal coaching?
A: I love this question. It’s a bit of a story that I’d be glad to share. Feel free to schedule a free consultation and remember to bring up this question. :)
